As most of you are aware, the mntv2 will not play the midi format. I have saved my midi files fom webtv days in the hope that msn would someday make the midi player available. At the time of Craig's death, he was working on a midi to wav converter as the possibility would increase the storage space needed by individual subscribers thus requiring the buying of additional file space needed. You can download the conversion equipment on a pc, but the purchase of a pc is not for me...yet. Is there a chance that Domania will have this feature some day ??
thanks .....fred
midi to wav converter
midi to wav
Thanks for the answer Paul.I never thought wav to mp3 would be possible, but Craig somehow figured it out. midi to mp3 would be even better. Some midis are great sounding on my stereo tv and sound equipment. mp3's are better but finding certain selections on search is very difficult. I collected my midis for 6 years and some just cannot be duplicated. Maybe you could download one of the conversion tools to your pc and charge us a fee to reload our file manager. Just a thought :~) Cheers........

I'm a little more hopeful
I'm a little more hopeful today about building a tool than I was yesterday. If I could speak Japanese, I'd be downright upbeat about what I've found - but I suspect I'll be able to figure it out eventually.
But you don't need to wait until I get a tool built. You can leave me a private message through the board. List the MIDIs you want translated, and I'll convert them for you. And don't worry about any fee. Domania has always tried to give users a little more than what they expect, and there's no need to stop now.

midi to mp3 or wav
Outstanding offer Paul! Thanks a lot. Here are 2 for a test run. Put them in my file of the same name (music) or just post your file and I will transload. If successful, I will need to buy more space :~) That's the name of the game!

I'm not sure.
I'm not sure.
I'm trying to find documentation and/or a library that would allow me to write such a utility. I'm not sure that it's going to be worth the effort. MIDI produces fairly crude musical performances, and finding an MP3 would result in more enjoyable music.
It sounds interesting to write such a utility, but I don't yet know what is involved.
