People have been asking me

The feds have been announcing more and more cyber-crime prosecutions.

People have been asking me what's happening with the investigation of our break-in.

The answer is, "I don't know."

I was told that it typically takes a little over two years between an incident and someone going to trial, so if something is going to happen, it probably will happen in the next six months.

But the feds have *not* been in contact with me lately, not to ask questions, and they certainly are reluctant to answer them.

Given the people they've been indicting, it may well be that they've decided that we're small fry and nobody gives a ::bleep::. There are a lot of police officers who don't like the FBI, saying that they FBI comes in, takes over a case, treats them like mushrooms, grabs a lot of publicity, and then drops the ball. If that's what they do, I can imagine that local cops, who think of the victims as their neighbors, who are concerned with fighting crime instead of fighting for exposure on the 11 pm news, would be sorely aggrieved.

But I don't know. I just don't know. Maybe we'll hear something soon. Maybe we'll never hear a peep from them.

Time will tell.
